Tzu Chi holds Donor Appreciation Night to thank Supporters
Tzu Chi Singapore has been serving local communities in Singapore for 30 years, benefitting many households and students through its four missions. The Donor Appreciation Night at the Humanistic Youth Centre was held to express the Foundation’s appreciation for the long-term support of its honorary board members and entrepreneurs with the hope that kindness can continue to spread.
One classical oldie after another, coupled with sign language performances by volunteers, the two-hour Donor Appreciation Night has filled the great hall of the Humanistic Youth Centre with an artistic and humanistic cultural atmosphere.
CEO of Tzu Chi Singapore, Low Swee She: We hope that they will join us as volunteers and continue to support us as we need a lot of donations to sustain our charitable missions.
Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio GRC (Jalan Kayu), Ng Ling Ling: It's a platform to remind us that there are people in need in the community, and we can give them a positive impact.
Host: What is your impression of Tzu Chi?
Chia Seng Chee: Whenever there is a disaster in any country, Tzu Chi is the first group to arrive at the scene.
Tzu Chi's footprints of kindness and its volunteers' efforts to light up the dark corners of society are evident to many.
Green Island Tour(S) Pte Ltd Founder Cathy Thang: What attracted me is the Jing-Si Aphorism that goes, “We do not have ownership of our life, only the privilege to use it”, and I find it worth reflecting on.
myCK Department Store Founder, Ang Chin Koon: Charity cannot be done alone. I hope everyone can do charity together as it would be very joyful because the world is too complicated.
It takes the effort of many people to infuse love into the world and reach out to a broader community with kindness. The love of nearly 500 people held together tonight must continue to grow and spread so that there is no cap to the power of love.
