To protect their animal friends, the children work hard to promote vegetarianism!

Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool has been promoting vegetarianism for many years, and the time has come for the children to learn to do the same! For this year's Global Compassion Challenge, Tzu Chi USA Education Foundation has set the theme as “Protecting lives through vegetarianism”, inviting the preschools to participate together. Through experience classes and watching videos in school, the children learned to care for animals. On top of this, they even made their own posters to promote vegetarianism to the public, helping to cultivate compassion in the process.

The little lion dancers jumped up and down to greet everyone. With Chinese New Year approaching, apart from sending blessings, the children have a bigger task to accomplish.

Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool has been promoting vegetarianism for many years, and the time has come for the children to learn to do the same. On invitation from the Tzu Chi USA Education Foundation, the preschools took part in the Global Compassion Challenge this year.

Preschool teacher Gan Wen Shan: We humans want to survive, but at the same time, have we ever considered the fact that animals also have lives. Because of our human appetite, these lives are gone. So we believe that being a vegetarian is a good thing, to have empathy and compassion, and love these animals.

With self-made boards and vegetarian recipes, the children are ready to promote vegetarianism!

Member of public, Ng Yoke Keng: (The children) are really cute and very happy, they shared with me about being a vegetarian. The earth is warming up, so try to be vegetarian and be environmentally friendly.

Member of public, Tsiang Yean Yeun: Several children told us not to eat animals, but to be vegetarian as it is better for our health. (Would you like to be vegetarian with them?) Yes

The number of vegetarian meals each person commits to eating are written on the wishing cards. These numbers represent not only the achievements of the children, but also the accumulation of good thoughts. Sending complete love to all living things this festive season is the most beautiful New Year blessing.
