After two years of not seeing each other, the children have grown up!

The "Mentoring with Love" tutoring programme, which was launched due to the pandemic, has been going on for two and a half years. Tzu Ching young mentors had a gathering with all the children who had participated in the programme, including those who did not continue after graduating from primary school. Moving from online to offline, the physical growth of the mentee became apparent, but what remained unchanged was the friendship between the young mentors and the children.

Even children who had stopped participating in the MWL programme after graduating from primary school came. Using superheroes to describe the children, the answer of Tzu Ching mentor is…

Tzu Ching: Very hardworking, and he will definitely be able to reach the level of Ironman

The reunion was joyful. This was the first time Tzu Ching organised an offline reunion after six seasons of the "Mentoring with Love" programme.

Graduated Tzu Ching, Ko An Qing: Very happy. We have not seen each other for two years. I almost couldn’t recognise them at first sight, because they have grown taller and bigger.

Student, Lee Bao Yu: We will do what you say, teacher.

Graduated Tzu Ching, Phua Yi Yin:

Just now when I saw them, I also kind of forgot how to interact. When I talked to Baoyu, I realised actually a lot of things still never change, she is still her. I think we kind of reconnected from today’s activity.

Mentoring programme student, Lee Bao Yu: Happy, and I wanted to see her again.

Tzu Ching: Change present perfect tense to past perfect tense

The original intention was to help children catch up with their studies, but in the past two and a half years, although the uncertainties from the pandemic have added variables to the event planning, there have been unexpected gains.

Programme coordinator, Tang Min Hui: The children who have been with us from the first to the sixth season, from the time when the mentors accompanied them from primary three to primary six, we can see that their grades have improved. We used to see them on screen, but when we came here today, it turned out that they have grown up so much. It is incredible, we have witnessed the growth of children.

Tzu Ching: Even though the MWL session is very short, we hope we have planted some seeds of hope in your life.

Time has witnessed the growth of the children, and this friendship between the mentors and mentees has left the most beautiful mark amid the pandemic.
